AI driven Israeli company ‘Embryonics’ ties-up with Jaslok Hospital

Israel based data driven fertility company ‘Embryonics’ announced its first collaboration in India with Jaslok-FertilTree International Fertility Centre led by the internationally renowned Dr. Firuza Parikh. The partnership is looking forward to increase the success rate of fertility treatments in the Indian subcontinent.

As millions of women get delayed having children because of changing socio-economic patterns and gender-roles, the IVF market continues to grow across the world. The process of IVF (In vitro fertilization) involves monitoring and stimulating a woman’s ovulatory process by removing an ovum from her ovaries and letting sperm fertilize them in a laboratory. However, there is a discord between demand and the quality of service being provided which clearly shows the fault of the IVF practitioners or embryologists.

Embryonics has trained its algorithms using thousands of data points from popular clinics in the USA, Israel, Europe, and Asia. While AI is enabling the world to go through advanced technology which is empowering and making everything possible easily, healthcare is involved here too. The first product of Embryonics to reach the market is UBAR. It is CE marked assistive embryo selection tool and is designed to aid embryologists in selecting which embryos to transfer.

UBAR’s purpose is to assist embryologists, utilizing an objective data driven approach and doesn’t replace the human factor. It is built on technology by using deep learning in the clinical setting. UBAR is a cloud-based software which uses time-lapse videos or single images of blastocysts to predict implantation probability and automatically annotate morpho kinetic events and assist embryo selection using a data driven approach.
