On World Thalassemia Day, Thalassemia Sickle Cell Society (TSCS) acknowledged Gandhi Hospital’s dedication to treating thalassemia children and providing life-changing splenectomy services. Over the past three years, the Department of Paediatric Surgery, led by Prof Dr. K. Nagarjuna, has performed 40 splenectomies, with Dr. Nagarjuna personally conducting 70 of these procedures.
Despite the complex nature of thalassemia patients, the skilled pediatric surgeons at Gandhi Hospital continue to offer high-quality care. TSCS President Mr. Chandrakant Agarwal and CEO & Secretary Dr. Suman Jain were eager to express their gratitude to the hospital’s team. They also highlighted the hospital’s innovative “Children Play Den” designed to help thalassemia children recover in a comfortable and stimulating environment.
