Following the completion of the merger with Firmenich International SA on 8 May 2023, DSM-Firmenich AG’s Board of Directors has announced changes to the company’s CEO structure. Effective 1 September 2023, Dimitri de Vreeze will become CEO of DSM-Firmenich, and Ralf Schmeitz will be appointed CFO, replacing the current Co-CEO structure.
Geraldine Matchett, who played a key role in DSM’s success and the merger with Firmenich, will depart the company on 1 September to pursue new opportunities. Thomas Leysen, Chairman of DSM-Firmenich, expressed his gratitude to Matchett for her outstanding work as Co-CEO and CFO.
Ralf Schmeitz, with an extensive background in Finance & Control, Treasury, Taxation, and M&A, will assume his role as CFO and join DSM-Firmenich’s Executive Committee on 1 September 2023. Leysen expressed confidence in de Vreeze’s ability to lead the company and welcomed Schmeitz to his new position as CFO.
